And what a movie it is !!!! the plot ,acting , direction ,script all excellent. Not withstanding.....what struck me the most abt the movie is the message.Complacency !!! how soon we adapt ourselves to the blasts, riots, natural and man made calamities...we just take everything in our stride and move on.....no matter what happens ...we report to work...back to normal as if the tragedy never happened...we just take it in our stride and go on. As long as we escaped...thank god !!
No its not the indauntable Mumbai Spirit...its just that we have a house to run,bills to pay and expenses to meet !
So is also the case with Corruption and strong arm tactics of a racist stone pelting self acclaimed leader. kaun panga le.....so we bend our standards and put up the name of our organisation in bold Marathi....better put up the marathi version and buy peace rather than stand up to a nobody and take him on...after all hes not in a position of power nor does he make the law of the land !! and we scream ourselves hoarse that we are a DEMOCRACY !! Sorry boss! We are a HYPOCRISY !
and it burns my blood that inspite of the high court ruling to put a stay on this marathi campaign...i see shopkeepers still putting up the new signboards.
And we call ourselves Global....the next Shanghai....to put Bombay....nay Mumbai on the global cosmopolitian map. Nope. We are Retro...going backwards in time. ...where the power of the sword...now the power of a stone thrown...reigns Supreme.
What we have lost is our Honour, our Pride and our self esteem. Because all these dont fill our stomach and needs.
I am ashamed to belong to such a society!!!!
