Insights on a Morning Walk

Yesterday during my morning walk a small incident occured. Which set me thinking. Consequently this blog.
Let me first describe the incident and then i will share my thoughts arising therefrom.
Ahead of me a group of walkers. Suddenly they diverted ..some to the left some to the right..leaving the centre empty...and then again the convergered together. Curiosity invaded my being.
As i moved a little ahead i saw the reason for this divergence. A very very very small kitten was settled bang in the centre of the walkway. And the walkers out of kindness and sympathy, reduced their speed, changed their course to accomadate her and keep her safe.
Round no 2: the same divergence kept happening. As i approached The Kitten Spot ...i realised that the walker ahead of me was preoccupied with something in the sky on the left...and he marched on blissfully unaware of The Kitten.
I cringed mentally, thinking the stupid kitten will be crushed.
But. As the foot of the preoccupied walker landed in front of her face....she let out a small cry and ran away onto the sidewalk.
Wow.
Round No 3: Again the same divergence.Little Kitten back in the centre of the walking track.
But i was inspired by the last round to try something. i marched steadily towards The Kitten and as my foot landed in front of her she scurried away frightened for her life.
Bingo.
Round No 4: The Little Kitten was perched on the sidewalk and now was aware that her place was not in the centre of the walkway and her life would benefit by remaining on the sidewalk.

NOW FOR MY THOUGHTS

  • Why...in the first place were the walkers SO accomadating of The Little Kitten??She had no business being in the centre of the walkway. And if by some chance she had landed there...they shud have gently picked her up and kept her to the side. But they dint do that. They changed their stride and speed to keep the kitten safe. Why are we as a people so fond of tolerance and happy to "appease the weak".

  • And the Little Kitty. No one bothered to correct her and put her in a place which was meant for her so she was happy and complacent thinking that she deserved to be where she was and it was her right.

  • But the moment she was threatened ...she moved to a safer place...backed off.

So that got me thinking. We tolerate the wrongs of our lives. We adopt a "policy of appeasement"(this policy was the cause of World War II..do u know?)(ya ya now u know i am currently doing Std X History)

getting back to my line of thoughts. so we TOLERATE. We fail to take that minor effort to Correct. And create hurdles for ourselves in the process.

thats the reason for the plight of

our country

our health

our relationships

our politics

Appease the Muslims..turn a blind eye to every wrong they do.

Ignore a health condition till it becomes too serious to correct

And on and on i cud go..

Think.

And next time u get the chance.....ACT.
